The Full Process of Work Permit and Work Residence Permit Obtaining in China

  1. Registration and approval of inviting company;
  2. The processing of documents which permits foreign citizens to enter China for work purposes;
  3. Work visa application in Chinese embassy in the country of stay or in China’s consulate in Hong Kong;
  4. Work permit processing (after entering China);
  5. Residence permit processing (after entering China).

Permission for foreign citizens to enter China for work purposes is processed in China using the documents you provided. This process takes 20 working days and the personal presence of the applicant is not required. When the permission is issued, the original copy of the documents is sent to the applicant by express mail. When you receive the original copy of the permission, you should visit the Chinese embassy and apply for a Chinese work visa. Chinese work visa allows you to enter China and within 30 days apply for work permit and work residence permit.

Documents required for entrance notification and work permit:

  • Degree certificate (legalized by Chinese embassy);
  • Non-criminal record check (legalized by Chinese embassy);
  • Health check statement (legalized by Chinese embassy or issued within China);
  • Reference letter proving your qualification and work experience;
  • CV;
  • Labor contract;
  • Passport (copy and original);
  • Photo;
  • Birth / marriage certificate (for family members only; legalized by Chinese embassy);
  • Company documents;
  • Accommodation registration.

Please note that all documents should be translated into Chinese language by local certified translation company. The translation must be accompanied by the company seal, business license, translator’s signature, and his / her certificate.

Invitation for Chinese Business Visa

Having an invitation letter, you may apply for visa in Chinese embassy in the country of your stay or in the Chinese consulate in Hong Kong.
